Rules
- Every card is face up from the start, so FreeCell is a game of planning rather than hidden information.

- Supermove capacity is based on open workspace: (empty free cells + 1) multiplied by two for each usable empty tableau column.
Strategy
- Keep free cells open until they unlock a useful sequence; filling all four removes much of your flexibility.
- Treat an empty tableau column as more valuable than a free cell because it can hold a sequence and multiply supermove capacity.
- Use a hint when the position is unclear. The hint search checks a bounded set of future positions, avoids recently visited states, and favors progress to foundations, free cells, or empty columns.

Frequently asked questions
How many cards can move together in FreeCell?
Capacity is (empty free cells + 1) multiplied by two for each usable empty column. A destination column that is already empty does not also count as temporary workspace for that move.
Is every FreeCell deal solvable?
No guarantee is made for every generated deal. Most positions reward careful planning, and unlimited undo lets you explore a different line without replacing the deal.
How do numbered deals and automatic saving work?
